Transition Specialist
A seasoned divorce financial specialist, Catherine (Cathie) Hurlburt will take either a neutral role and work with both parties to mediate an agreement on your finances, or she will work with only one party as your advisor. She is knowledgeable about the process of divorce and personal income tax matters in divorce, and takes a very practical, no-nonsense approach to finding a fair solution. While Cathie is helping you with your divorce, she works on a fee-only basis.
While she specializes in transitions, Cathie also provides ongoing financial advice to long-term clients. Her role as your financial advisor is to help you understand your options and the fundamentals behind them, and then to guide you along the path that will get you where you want to go.
Cathie is a Senior Financial Planner at Assante Financial Management Ltd., and is a senior partner with Integrated Planning Group. Cathie draws on her partners' special knowledge when needed, as well as the expertise of other professional colleagues, such as lawyers, to bring the very best service and advice to her clients. A current member of Assante's Chairman's Council, an honour reserved only for the top advisors in Canada, she is also past-National Chairperson for Advocis (1999-2001), was a BCIT School of Business Faculty member (1991-1995), and co-authored an industry textbook.
